The heart of a dying self

This piece came to me in a vision. I was taken to a place and shown an object, a metal heart, encrusted with blue stones, this was my dying heart. But only the one of a self I was leaving to die, and they produced me a new one. The liquid metal technique alludes to this spiritual space, in which I found my renaissance.

These pieces take place within the family setting, and the nodal constructs, and objects of mass which hold us in our position in the great galaxy of humanity. Each work takes place within a ‘plane’ of existence, a context in which these players meet. The stage is set for two characters and their location speaks of the relations between them in the Artists family. The choice of materials and textures, alluding to the nature of the relationships and their effect upon each other. Where attrition becomes smooth, and perfection mirrors the cracked surface of the other, we begin to see our own lives reflected in the poetry and the rendering of the materials, and the placement of the characters.
